Bitter and angry elementals of earth and fire

I have a lot of notes on a current campaign setting I’m gradually filling out, and with that comes a lot of ideas for neat homebrewed stuff : creatures, items, NPCs, hazards, rituals, etc.

While the campaign setting will be explored in other articles (I’m not even sure how to start, because it forces my very open, free-form and sandbox-y notes into something that needs to be structured), I can still start showing some of the things I’ve thrown at my players!

I’m currently doing a lot with elementals, and one particular topic that I want to explore is minerals and metals (specifically in context of their extraction, of technology and industry). Here’s an elemental of sulfur (which I’ve decided is a mix of earth and fire, given sulfur’s association with fire and stone, i.e. “brimstone”, in alchemy).

This creature is a mix of the Living Boulder and the Filth Fire with adjusted stats for its level.

I’ve more I can do with sulfur, including items and alchemical stuff, but that will have to wait.

Living Sulfur (Creature 3)

Bitter and easily angered, this moving mass of rocks has formations of crystalline sulfur on its body that slowly formed in deep volcanic conditions over decades, with an unstable interior of molten rocks and sulfuric gaz.

In contrast with the cold patience and seriousness or other earth elementals, their patience has run out and are they are often in a fiery rage at the extraction of minerals and metals, seeking revenge on nearby miners and alchemists.
